When I am importing photos, and then viewing them, how can I set the default 'sort order'? I currently want to set it to 'file name', but every time I shut down Lightroom and restart it, the sort order has changed to something else.I find lots of discussions about this on the internet, but no answers. Also lots of YouTube videos explaining how to change the Sort Order, but nothing on how to find a setting, or a preference, to make the change last.In my case, this is for Lightroom 6 on a MacBook Pro, but I've read the same question about many versions of Lightroom on both Mac and PC.(I don't really want to know why one setting for sort order is better than another - I just want to know how to set it from now on, so it won't change unless I change it myself.). For me, the default sort order is by 'added order'.which is useless.
If it was sorted by default by 'capture time', I could accept that, as were I to be using two cameras, it would be useful. My question isn't 'which is best', or why, but simply how to change the default setting. I can't believe that it isn't some kind of setting people have access to. At a minimum, the default should be 'whatever it was set to the previous time'. If that's how it is supposed to work now, on a MacBook Pro, using Sierrra MacOS, it is broken. It's not that big a deal - it's just annoying, and one more useless thing to deal with before I can start working with imported images.
2018-02-13 ByWriters use Ulysses’ groups to organize their projects and texts. Depending on the text type, the sheets inside a group should be arranged in a certain way. For instance, diarists will sort their sheets most likely by creation date. If you’re writing a novel or a thesis, being able to sort sheets manually is useful for organizing your contents. You can change the sort order of each group or filter separately. On MacOn Mac, you can change the sort order in two ways. If you want to change the sorting of a single group or filter, hover your mouse over the group in the sheet list, and you’ll find “Sort Manually” there.Click it, and you’ll see the sorting options for this group.
You can sort the sheets of a group in the following ways:. Manually. By Title. By Modification Date. By Creation DateFor all sorting options (except manual sorting, of course), you can also reverse the sort order. This approach only changes the sorting of the selected group. If you want to change the sorting of a group and its subgroups, right-click the group in the library column and use the menu “Sort” instead.
Aug 13, 2019 By default, folders will sort their contents by Name, in alphabetical order. However, a Cabinet Administrator may change the default sort order for all new folders created in the cabinet. This is done under the Foldering section on the Cabinet Administration page: An individual folder may also have its default sort order changed.
On iPhone or iPadOn your iPhone or iPad, you can also similarly sort your sheets. Open the sheet list, tap “Sorted” at the bottom and then select the appropriate sort option. This will affect all groups shown in the sheet list. Alternatively, you can open the library column, swipe left on a group, open its settings and set the sorting from there. You can set the sorting for each group separately. This sorting is then synced seamlessly across all your devices. Display Dates in the Sheet ListIn Ulysses, you can show the dates of a sheet in the sheet list. On Mac, you can enable this option using the menu “View › Sheet Preview › Dates”.
